Apex Bank is proud to announce the promotion of Susan Melton to Senior Vice President, in recognition of her nearly five decades of dedicated service, exceptional leadership, and deep commitment to the bank and the communities it serves.
Susan began her remarkable journey with the Bank of Camden on June 7, 1977, just three days after graduating from high school. What started as a position in manual check filing as a bookkeeper quickly evolved into a dynamic and inspiring career that has mirrored the bank’s growth. Over the years, Susan has held nearly every role within the institution, including teller, vault clerk, loan payment specialist, customer service representative, BSA officer, accounts payable lead, IT contributor, and operations team member.
From working with 16-pocket machines and hand-mailed documents to overseeing operations across multiple locations, Susan has not only witnessed but helped lead the bank through significant transformations.
Her leadership has been instrumental in streamlining processes, enhancing customer service, and supporting internal teams through every phase of modernization. Susan’s tireless work ethic and eye for problem-solving made her a go-to leader within the organization.
“Susan has grown alongside this bank, and in many ways, she is the heart of our operation,” said President and CEO, Matt Daniels. “This promotion is not only well-earned, but long overdue. Her institutional knowledge, integrity, and compassion make her a true pillar of our organization and an example for all team members.”
While Susan is widely respected for her professional contributions, she is equally admired for her human touch. She credits much of her journey to the people who have supported her along the way.
Please join us in congratulating Susan Melton on this well-deserved promotion and celebrating her outstanding legacy at Apex Bank.
